Where to begin with home renovations ….?
My husband and I bought our first house and needs some work, mostly small, but a couple of things too big … We have to replace the roof, as most of the trusses were built with 2×2 and could be used for strengthening. Also we are studying the possibility of re-pouring the basement floor that is concrete, but would give us the opportunity to replace some aging plumbing, etc. In addition, we have to replace most of the drywall in the home, there is no isolation in any of the exterior walls. Where should we begin, and what we looking at spending in each of these projects? It is a unique story of 1200 square meters house with gabled roof simple … nothing fancy.
I agree to the roof important, but if the ceiling is wired, and do not stop (Do you know the difference?) its made from 2 x 3 and are designed for maximum strength. so maybe you only need to tile second, all windows replaced. then make heating / air repairs (if necessary) and then plumbing electric then continued to install all insulation and vapor barrier, finally, drywall and painting in terms of pricing goes, it all depends where you live
